Florian Weider has confirmed that he will be designing stage for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Florian Wieder has designed a number of Eurovision Song Contest stages in recent years. His first stage for the contest was in 2011, this will be the third year in a row that his design will be seen by millions of viewers across the globe. Outside of Eurovision he has also designed stages for The X Factor in the UK, as well as MTV Video Music Awards in past years.
According to local media reports Florian Weider was selected over Israeli designer Maya Hanoch and partner Avi Fahima. The two told Walla that;
We are very disappointed by this decision. They told us that the two designs were excellent. We did a spectacular stage design for Eurovision. Eurovision is happening in Tel Aviv and should be shaped by the Israelis.
Tel Aviv will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in the Expo Tel Aviv (International Convention Centre) on May 14, 16 and 18 2019. fter receiving bids from several cities across Israel, the final two remaining candidate cities were Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Tickets for the contest will be available by the end of the year. While Tel Aviv has never hosted the Eurovision Song Contest, the “Israel Calling” Party has been held in the city since 2016. Acts from 25 participating countries took part in this year’s event.
