Wales will be represented by Manw on their debut in the competition. Manw was selected last night in the final of Chwilio am Seren at the the Venue Cymru in Llandudno. The six finalists were selected after rounds of auditions and live performances.
The finalists were:
- Gracie Jayne
The show was held in two parts. During the first part all six singers performed covers of existing songs. The three mentors, Connie Fisher, Stifyn Parri and Tara Bethan all gave their opinions on the performances but could not vote. Once the finalists performed, five judging panels in Aberystwyth, Llandudno, Carmarthen, Cardiff and London voted for the three singers they wanted to see in next round of the show. Manw, Ella and Lily were selected by the juries.
The three singers that collected the most votes from the five juries went on to sing ‘Hi yw y Berta’. After all of the singers took to the stage, it was the turn of the Welsh public to vote for the singer they wanted to see represent them on stage in Minsk, Belarus. With the highest amount of votes from the public, Manw was chosen to be the very first Welsh Junior Eurovision representative.
