The song that Roksana Węgiel will perform for Poland at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest has been selected and is expected to be revealed at the end of October.
Dziennik Eurowizyjny reports that TVP has now selected the song that Roksana Węgiel will perform at Junior Eurovision 2018. According to the sources, the song will be performed in both Polish and English and is not a ballad. Filming of the music video is set to take place in the coming days with the song to be formally released at the end of this month.
The song has all been written by Juliusz Kamil as well as Lanberry. Lanberry will be known to Eurovision fans having competed as a singer in Krajowe Eliminacje 2017, while also writing two of the songs that competed in the 2018 Polish selection process for Eurovision.
Who is Roksana Węgiel?
Thirteen-year-old Roksana Wegiel was born on 11th January 2005 in Jasło, Poland. The young singer rose to fame after winning the first season of The Voice Kids Poland earlier this year, and has since released two singles, titled “Zyj” and “I Promise”. Alongside singing, her favourite hobbies include acrobatics, ballroom dancing, hip-hop and judo.
Roksana is known for winning the first series of The Voice Kids in Poland, and has said this about her achievements:
“Winning The Voice Kids was an honour and a dream come true, but representing my country at Junior Eurovision is an actual honour. Dreaming and fighting for your dreams is worthy. Thanks for believing in me!”

Poland participated the inaugural edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003. After two consecutive last-place finishes, they withdrew from the contest in 2005. After an absence of 13 years, Poland returned to the contest in 2016. Olivia Wieczorek finished 11th in Malta with “Nie zapomnij”, Poland’s best result in the contest to date. 2.2 million people in Poland watched the 2016 contest, making up the majority of the total 3.9 million viewing figure.
