Italy has revealed that Melissa & Marco will be representing them at Junior Eurovision 2018 with the song “What Is Love”.
RAI has selected Mellisa and Marco to represent Italy at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The duet will be performing the song “What Is Love” at this years competition in Minsk, Belarus. This is the first time that Italy will be represented by a male and female duet at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Italy has previously used both internal selections and televised selections to pick their singer for the competition. Maria Iside Fiore represented Italy at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Georgia. With her song “Scelgo” (My Choice), she finished in 11th position with 86 points.
Italy debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2014. Their first and only win to date was on their debut, when Vincenzo Cantiello came in 1st place with 159 points with his song “Tu Primo Grande Amore”. Their worst result was in 2015 when twins Chiara & Martina came 16th with 34 points with their song “Viva”. Since their debut, Italy have participated in every contest.
