The winner of the contest will go on to represent Albania at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Minsk, Belarus.
Albania first debuted in the Junior Eurovision Contest in 2012, and to date have had 4 entries. The country is still yet to win the contest, and their best result was in 2015, when Mishela Rapo performed her song “Dambaje”, which scored a total of 93 points and ended on 5th place. Albania’s worst result occurred in their debut in 2013, where Klesta Qehaja and her song “Besoj” placed 13th with 38 points. Albania were absent from the contest in 2013 and 2014, before returning again in 2015.
The show is taking place at Tirana’s Lake Park Amphitheater. However, RTSH will air it live in early or mid-October. Despite the delay, Mishela Rapo will stream the show on Instagram.
