Ten people have returned to the BTRC studios as the final round of auditions to determine the hosts of Junior Eurovision 2018 take place.
The final round of auditions to determine the hosts of Junior Eurovision 2018 have taken place today in Minsk. Among the people returning for the final round of auditions were Helena Meraai and Ruslan Aslanov. Both of the singers have represented Belarus at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and were the green room hosts at this years Belarusian Junior Eurovision selection.
The main criteria that BTRC and Show Producer Gordon Bonello are looking for in the applicants are main criteria fluency in English and confidence in working the camera. Gordon added;
I’m looking for a host with energy, excitement. Millions of viewers should see the person on their screens. Confidence also plays a big role, so we selected candidates with live experience. I know that for them it’s not just an English show. It’s a big test, but we will do everything so that on November 25 the whole world will see a brilliant show.
The 2018 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Minsk, Belarus after the country won the bidding process before the 2017 contest even began. Olga Salamankha explained that Belarus was selected as the host for next years contest over other bids due to their long-term commitment to the competition.
A record twenty countries will take part in this years Junior Eurovision Song Contest. These are:
- Azerbaijan – Returning nation
- France – Returning nation
- FYR Macedonia
- Israel – Returning nation
- Kazakhstan – Debut
- The Netherlands
- Wales – Debut
