12-year-old Jael Wena will represent Australia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Belarus.
The singer, from Melbourne, was chosen to represent Australia by the Head of Delegation at Blink TV in Australia. Jael’s song is yet to be revealed.
2018 will be the fourth time that Australia has participated in Junior Eurovision. In 2017, 13 year old Isabella Clarke, also from Melbourne, finished in third place in the contest which was held in Tbilisi, Georgia. She scored a total of 172 points for her performance of “Speak Up.”
In 2018, Junior Eurovision will once again be broadcast in Australia on ABC ME and joining Jael will be host Grace Koh, plus Pip Rasmussen and Lawrence Gunatilaka.

The 2018 contest will be held on Sunday 26 November from Minsk, Belarus. Pictures of the stage concept were released yesterday by the host broadcaster BTRC and feature the largest staging design since the 2015 contest in Sofia, Bulgaria.
A record twenty countries will take part in this years Junior Eurovision Song Contest. These are:
- Azerbaijan – Returning nation
- France – Returning nation
- FYR Macedonia
- Israel – Returning nation
- Kazakhstan – Debut
- The Netherlands
- Wales – Debut
