M5 will broadcast the final of Eurovision Young Musicians live on August 23 from Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
M5 has confirmed that it will be airing the final of Eurovision Young Musicians 2018 live. The channel will be broadcasting the contest live from 20:30 CET, the final will be preceded by a 30 minute recap of the two semi-finals. Viewers in Hungary will be able to watch the semi-finals live via the MTVA Mediaklikk website.
Máté Bencze is 18-years-old and from the city of Debrecen in eastern Hungary, he will celebrate his 18th birthday next month. He is currently studying at Kodaly Zoltan Music School of Debrecen. Máté has been playing the saxophone since a young age. In the third show of the first semi-final he will perform;
- Demersseman – Fantasy on an original theme
- JS Bach – Allegro from Sonata in g minor BVWV 1020
- Iturralde – Pequeña Czarda
Eurovision Young Musicians has been held bi-annually since 1982. The contest was based on the format of The BBC Young Musician of the Year in the United Kingdom. Performers in the contest must be aged under 18 years and are selected by their participating broadcaster. Each performer performs a piece of classical music of their choice accompanied by the local orchestra. The winner is decided by a jury made up of classical music experts and talents.
