Russia Kultura has revealed their broadcast plans for Eurovision Young Musicians 2018, which will take place next month in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
The station which is returning to Eurovision Young Musicians for the first time since 2010, will be airing the final of the contest live, with both semi-finals to be broadcast on a time delay. Viewers in Russia will be able to watch Semi-Final One on August 20 and Semi-Final Two on August 21, two days after each show has been held. The broadcaster has not confirmed if it is sending a commentary team to the United Kingdom for the contest.
16-year-old Ivan Bessonov will represent Russia on their return to Eurovision Young Musicians this Summer in Edinburgh. Ivan was selected to represent Russia in the competition after taking part in the 1st International Competition of Young Pianists Grand Piano Competition in Moscow. He was one of fifteen Russian musicians to take part in the international competition which was broadcast by Russia Kultura, the broadcaster behind Russia’s Young Musicians participation.
Ivan has been playing piano since he was 6 years old. He likes to improvise and compose. In 2015, he made his debut in the cinema as a professional composer – he composed music for the documentary film by Victor Kosakovsky Varicella.
