The Head of Khabar Agency has confirmed that the channel will be holding a national selection process for Junior Eurovision 2018.
Speaking at a press conference today in Astana, the Chairman of Khabar Agency has confirmed that the broadcaster will hold a selection process for Junior Eurovision 2018. Alan Azhibayev noted the channel only found out that it would be participating in this years contest on July 25. Mr Azhibayev explained that;
Most European countries are doing a very fruitful work in advance, on July 25 we learned that we will get to Junior Eurovision, we do not have much time to take important steps to select the winner who will go to Minsk.
The channel is looking out for a potential winner of this years contest in Minsk, Belarus;
We consider all the talented children who live in our country.It can not be said that it will be Danelia Tuleshova who will go, we have many other stars, most importantly, that the audience will determine who will go there to represent Kazakhstan at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. We need to do this very quickly, to find a child who will just come and win.
The Kazakh national final will be held before October 8, which is the official deadline imposed by the EBU for selections to have been held by.
Kazakhstan’s participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 is being organised by Khabar Agency. The broadcaster has yet to confirm how it will select its participant for Minsk. Khabar has been broadcasting the Eurovision Song Contest live to viewers across Kazakhstan since 2010, with a commentary team covering the contest from Astana. Khabar has been an associate member of the European Broadcasting Agency since January 2016.
