The Israeli Prime Minister has congratulated Netta on her victory in the 63rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal.
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minsister has congratulated Netta on her victory at Eurovision 2018. Mr Netanyahu opened his weekly cabinet meeting with a homage to the winning entry “Toy”. Instead of saying “boker tov” (good morning), the Prime Minister is recorded as saying “boker toy.”
The Prime Minister said in a statement that;
These days, Jerusalem is blessed with many gifts. We received another one yesterday evening, with Netta’s suspenseful and shining victory. The gift was that Eurovision will be coming to Jerusalem next year, and we are proud to be hosting it.
Mr Netanyahu was recorded by the state broadcaster imitating one of Netta’s signature moves in her performance outside of the cabinet meeting.

Netta won the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with the song “Toy,” garnering 529 points and taking the trophy to Israel on the 20th anniversary of their last win.
After eight months of national selections, several weeks of promotional tours, fifteen days of rehearsals and two semi-finals, twenty-six songs competed in Lisbon, Portugal, for the title.
The last time Israel won the contest was 1998, when Dana International triumphed with her song “Diva.” They had won two other times before, in 1978 and 1979.
