Jana Burceska will reveal the results of the Macedonian jury during the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 tomorrow night.
Jana represented Macedonia last year with the song “Dance Alone”. She placed 15th in semi-final 2 with 69 points and failed to qualify for the final. However, she revealed her pregnancy during her postcard before her performance and got engaged on-air before the results.
Eye Cue were internally selected to represent their country at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Lost and Found” is a band made up of vocalists Bojan Trajkovski and Marija Ivanovska, and drummer Ivo Mitkovski. The group formed in 2008 and in the same year they charted with their song “Magija”. The band has had a number of hits across the Balkans, most notably their 2010 song “Not This Time”, which entered the MTV Adria Top 20.
Eye Cue failed to qualify for the final, marking the country’s sixth consecutive non-qualification.
FYR Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest
FYR Macedonia has had a string of poor results in recent years failing to reach the final every year since 2012. The country debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998, however, two years earlier they attempted to participate but was knocked out in the pre-qualifying round. In 2016 they were represented by Kaliopi for a second time with the song “Dona”, she missed out on the final finishing in 11th in her semi-final. FYR Macedonia’s best result to date is a 12th place finish in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest represented by Elena Risteska and the song “Ninanajna”.
