The singer filmed the video last month under the direction of Taras Golubkov. Mr Golubkov has worked on more than 50 music videos shoots, including with artists such as MONATIK.
During the video the singer is joined by Julia Gershun, who was named Top Model of the World 2017 and has been crowned with numerous modeling titles. Taras Golubkov explained that;
This video is a story about the fight against oneself, with temptations and difficulties, which prevent progress towards success. In the video, we will have a wind, trying to knock the hero down, and temptress, whose role is played by the charming Julia Gershun, and, of course, an all-consuming fire! In which MÉLOVIN burns, and rebels from the ashes to become a completely different person.
MÉLOVIN is no stranger to Eurovision selection shows, as he participated in Vidbir 2017 with his song “Wonder”. He ended up placing third in the Final, receiving the highest amount of televote points but placing second-to-last with the jury. A year later he participated once again, this time placing first. This time around he received the highest amount of televote points and second-highest amount of jury points.
Ukraine first participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2003, when Oleksandr Ponomariov performed “Hasta la vista”. The following year Ruslana brought the country their first win with the song “Wild Dances”. It was a feat that would be replicated in 2016 by Jamala with her song “1944”; her emotionally charged song scored a record 534 points to take victory in Stockholm. Last year O.Torvald represented the country on home soil with the song “Time”. The group finished in 24th place, Ukraine’s worst result at the contest to date.
