The Norwegian national broadcaster has revealed the team of dancers and backing singers joining Alexander Rybak on stage in Lisbon, Portugal.
Alexander Rybak is set to be joined by five singers and dancers for “That’s How You Write A Song”. Following his victory in Melodi Grand Prix 2018, Rybak and NRK have held a new round of auditions to select the best singers and dancers to join him on stage in Lisbon.
One of the new additions however did not have to go through the auditions stage. Lisa Børud was handpicked by Rybak to join him in Lisbon, Lisa is known to Norwegian audiences for her performances on Stjernekamp hausten 2017. The full team joining Alexander Rybak includes;
- Lene Kokai – Singer & Dancer
- Jens Jeffry Trinidad – Dancer & Choreographer
- Frode Vassel – Vocalist
- Alvaro Estrella – Singer & Dancer
Alvaro Estrella will be known to fans of the contest having been a backing singer at Eurovision before. He was a backing singer for Sweden 2011, Russia 2016 and Sweden 2017. In 2014 he participated in Melodifestivalen, the Swedish Eurovision selection, with the song “Bedroom”. Alexander Rybak added about the selection that;
We have had long auditions, and now we have found five thrilling entertainers, who are great at singing and dancing
Alexander Rybak won MGP 2018 in March with his entry “That´s How You Write a Song”, and will represent Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 for the second time after he won the contest in 2009 with the song “Fairytale”.
Eurovision Young Musicians has been held bi-annually since 1982. The contest was based on the format of The BBC Young Musician of the Year in the United Kingdom. Performers in the contest must be aged under 18 years and are selected by their participating broadcaster. Each performer performs a piece of classical music of their choice accompanied by the local orchestra. The winner is decided by a jury made up of classical music experts and talents.
