Ieva Zasimauskate has revealed her top five favourite songs competing in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 alongside her in Lisbon.
Lithuania’s Ieva Zasimauskate has revealed the five songs that she thinks are the best in this years Eurovision Song Contest. She did not reveal the order of her top five but stated that the following songs are her favourites:
- Spain – Alfred & Amaia – Tu cancion
- Austria – Cesar Sampson – Nobody But You
- France – Madame Monsieur – Mercy
- Czech Republic – Mikolas Josef – Lie to Me
- Ireland – Ryan O’Shaugnessy – Together
Ieva also commented on the songs she has selected, adding for Mikolas Josef that;
What he does on the stage, how he behaves, what his song is … Everything indicates that he is a real star.
Ieva is one of a number of singers this year to reveal their favourites out of the other fourty two songs that they are competing against. This includes Isaura from Portugal and Franka who is representing Croatia in Lisbon.
She was born on 2nd July 1993 in Kaunas, Lithuania. Ieva is no stranger to Eurovision selection shows as she has attempted to represent Lithuania on four previous occasions – in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017. Ieva Zasimauskaite will represent Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. She was selected after she won Lithuanian selection show Eurovizijos with her song “When We’re Old”.
Lithuania debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, however on their debut they finished in last place with nul points. Lithuania didn’t return to the contest until 1999 when Aiste finished 20th with the song “Strazdas”. Lithuania’s best result came in 2006 when LT United performed “We Are The Winners”, they finished 6th in the final with a total of 162 points. Lithuania’s only other top.10 finish came in 2016 when Donny Montell performed “I’ve Been Waiting For This Night” in Stockholm, he received 12 points from the public in Ireland, Norway & United Kingdom.
