Yulia Samoylova has travelled to Lisbon, Portugal to film her postcard for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.
Russian singer Yulia Samoylova is the next artist to travel to the host country to film their Eurovision postcard. The host venue for the contest, the Altice Arena, will serve as the background of the Russian postcard this year, along with the Lisbon Oceanarium in Parque das Nações.
The postcard will feature Yulia and her husband visiting the aquarium, meeting the sea creatures while her partner records her journey.
The postcards are short clips that are shown to the audience while the artist gets ready on stage. The following artists have also filmed their postcards:

Yulia Samoylova was born in Ukhta, a small industrial town in the Russian North, on October 7, 1989. A singer, composer and songwriter, she has won multiple music competitions both in Russia and abroad. She was the runner-up of the Russian version of The X Factor and took part in the opening ceremony of the 2014 Paralympics.
She was selected to represent Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song “Flame is Burning”, but the country withdrew. This year, she will be performing “I Won’t Break” in Lisbon.
Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest Russia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 and has gone on to be one of the most successful countries in the contest. Since the mid-00s Russia has had a string of strong results including their first and only victory to date in 2008. Dima Bilan won the contest in Belgrade, Serbia with the song “Believe” taking the contest to Moscow the following year. In the 2015 and 2016, Russia finished in 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the final.
