Tomorrow the Portuguese national broadcaster will broadcast two live television specials, documenting the preparations for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.
The Portuguese national broadcaster continues its in-depth coverage of its hosting of Eurovision 2018, as it dedicates a further 5 hours of programming to the ongoing preparations for next months contest. From 10:00 Sónia Araújo will present a special edition of A Praça that looks further at the preparations, while from 14:25 Tânia Ribas de Oliveira will present Agora Nós.
Jorge Gabriel and José Pedro Vasconcelos will join both of the programs live from the Pavilhão de Portugal. Over the course of the five hours the two presenters will be revealing new details regarding the competition. The Pavilhão de Portugal which will serve as the press center for this years contest.
A total of 43 countries will take part in the 2018 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. This includes Russia, as they return to the contest after a year break. The 43 participating countries are:
- Czech Republic
- FYR Macedonia
- The Netherlands
- San Marino
- United Kingdom
The official slogan for this year’s contest is “All Aboard!”, and was chosen to represent a celebration of Europe and music. The slogan was inspired by Lisbon’s longstanding history as an important global seaport and the importance of the ocean in Portugal’s history. The ocean has connected Portugal to the rest of the world for centuries, and this connectivity is intended to invite people from across the world to come together to celebrate music and Eurovision.
