In Norway a total of 28,000 viewers watched on April 1, as the final of Eurovision Choir of the Year 2017 was broadcast on NRK.
NRK has revealed to Eurovoix, that a total of 28,000 viewers tuned in to watch the final of Eurovision Choir of the Year 2017 when it was broadcast on April 2 on NRK 2. The show had a rating of 2.7% of viewers during its broadcast. The viewing figures are only 2,000 viewers lower than for the broadcast of Eurovision Young Dancers 2017 which aired in December.
Norway had turned down participating in last years contest due to their current participation in Let The Peoples Sing. Let the Peoples Sing is a biannual competition organised by the EBU’s radio department for amateur choirs. The broadcaster however said that there was the possibility of participating in Choir of the Year in its second edition.
Alongside Norway the contest has also been broadcast in the non-participating countries of:

- Albania – RTSH 1
- France – ARTE Concert
- Serbia – RTS 2
- Ukraine – Radio Ukraine
Eurovision Choir of the Year 2017 was won by Carmen Manet from Slovenia. The choir performed two pieces during their six minutes on stage and beat off competition from eight other choirs from across Europe. Wales finished second in the final, while the host nation of Latvia finished third. The contest was broadcast live in ten countries across Europe and across the world online.
