The Eurovision participants and guests taking part in the Moscow Eurovision Party 2018 have been revealed by organisers.
Attending this years show in the Russian Capital are the Eurovision 2018 participant; Sevak Khanaghyan (Armenia), Aisel (Azerbaijan), DoReDos (Moldova) and Julia Samoylova (Russia). This years show is considerably smaller than in previous years, when artists from countries such as Israel and Switzerland have attended.
The show which will take place on April 7 at the Vegas Hall in Moscow will also feature a number of past Eurovision participants as guest performers; Philipp Kirkorov (Russia – 1995), Ivan (Belarus 2016), Dina Garipova (Russia 2013), Dmitry Koldun (Belarus 2013), Kristian Kostov (Bulgaria 2017), Polina Bogusevich (Russia – Junior Eurovision 2017 Winner), Tolmachevy sisters (Russia – Junior Eurovision 2006 Winner, Eurovision 2014).
The Moscow Eurovision Party 2017 was cancelled last year following Russia’s withdrawal from the contest event. In the week before its cancellation a number of Heads of Delegation contacted the organisers of the event stating that they would not be attending due to Russia not participating in the 2017 contest. The organisers at the time stated that the event has become “hostages in the political situation” and that they deeply regret having to cancel the event.

Russia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 and has gone on to be one of the most successful countries in the contest. Since the mid-00s Russia has had a string of strong results including their first and only victory to date in 2008. Dima Bilan won the contest in Belgrade, Serbia with the song “Believe” taking the contest to Moscow the following year. In the 2015 and 2016, Russia finished in 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the final.
