The Director General of San Marino RTV has spoken about the final of 1in360 and his hopes for this years Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon.
Director General of the San Marinese national broadcaster Carlo Romeo has given his thoughts on the countries first ever national selection and the countries prospects in Lisbon. Mr Romeo praised the work that went in to the San Marinese selection, but highlighted that the hard work is still ahead of them in Lisbon;
For several years we had been working on a project that would lead to an international selection and finally with the partnership with 1in360 we succeeded, but in Lisbon it will be very tough but we know that we have done and are doing our best.
Mr Romeo also gave his commiserations to Irol, who was the only San Marinese singer to take part in the live shows. Mr Romeo stated;
A hug from all of us at Irol who demonstrated his character and his quality as an artist in a difficult context. He was very good .
In addition he congratulated Jessika and Jennifer for being selected to represent San Marino in Lisbon adding;
Good luck instead to Jessika , also very good and she too coming from a small friendly State with whose television station has also signed a collaboration agreement three years ago. We cross our fingers for Lisbon , we are sure that both she and Jennifer, in the performance, will be able to represent worthily the Radio and Television of the State and the flag of San Marino, in the most beautiful music contest in the world.

San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest
Over 9 years of participation San Marino have only once qualified for the Eurovision final when Valentina Monetta represented the country with “Maybe (Forse)” in Copenhagen. She finished in 24th place with 14 points, San Marino’s best result to date. This year Valentina represented her country for the 4th time, this time joined on stage by American singer Jimmie Wilson. The pair’s entry “Spirit of the Night” finished in last place in its semi-final in Kyiv, scoring just 1 point.
