AWS will represent Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal.
Tonight the final of A Dal took place in Budapest, which saw eight artists take to the stage. In the end, it was AWS who came out on top with their song “Viszlát nyar”.
Performing tonight was:

- Heincz Gábor (BIGA) – “Good vibez”
- Leander Kills – “Not szól harang”
- Süle Zsolt – “Zöld a május”
- Tamás Horvath – “Meggyfa”
- Viktor Kiraly – “Budapest Girl”
- yesyes – “I Let You Run Away”
- AWS – “Viszlát nyar”
The jury members decided on the best four acts tonight to go to the second round of voting. These four acts were:
- Viktor Kiraly – “Budapest Girl”
- yesyes – “I Let You Run Away”
- AWS – “Viszlát nyar”
- Dánielfy Gergely – “Azt mondtad”
From there, the public voted on which act they want to see go to the Eurovision Song Contest.
The winner of A Dal 2018 will go on to represent Hungary at the 63rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal. In 2017 Hungary was represented by Joci Pápai with the song Origo which placed 8th in the Final.
Hungary debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, they were represented by Friderika Bayer and the song “Kinek mondjam el vetkeimet”. She went on to finish in 4th place scoring a total of 122 points and four sets of 12 points. This result remains’ Hungary’s best in their history in the contest. Hungary participated from 1994 to 1994 before withdrawing until 2005, the country didn’t return again until 2008. Hungary then once again withdrew in 2010 before returning in 2011. Since their return in 2011 Hungary has qualified for the final every year.
