Joci Pápai, Magna Cum Laude and György Ferenczi will be performing in the interval of A Dal 2018 final tomorrow.
Hungarian broadcaster MTVA has revealed the acts that will perform in the interval of A Dal tomorrow evening. On the line-up, there’s Joci Pápai, who represented the country at last year’s Eurovision Song Contest, the band Magna Cum Laude, and singer György Ferenczi.
The final of A Dal 2018 will take place from 20:30 CET tomorrow evening, which will see eight artists participate for the chance to represent Hungary at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal this May.
The performing artists are:
- Dánielfy Gergely – “Azt mondtad”
- Heincz Gábor (BIGA) – “Good vibez”
- Leander Kills – “Not szól harang”
- Süle Zsolt – “Zöld a május”
- Tamás Horvath – “Meggyfa”
- Viktor Kiraly – “Budapest Girl”
- yesyes – “I Let You Run Away”
- AWS – “Viszlát nyar”
Please note that the above is not the official running order. The jury members will decide on the best four acts tonight to go to the second round of voting. From there, the public will be able to vote on which act they want to see go to the Eurovision Song Contest.
The winner of A Dal 2018 will go on to represent Hungary at the 63rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal. In 2017 Hungary was represented by Joci Pápai with the song Origo which placed 8th in the Final.
Hungary debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, they were represented by Friderika Bayer and the song “Kinek mondjam el vetkeimet”. She went on to finish in 4th place scoring a total of 122 points and four sets of 12 points. This result remains’ Hungary’s best in their history in the contest. Hungary participated from 1994 to 1994 before withdrawing until 2005, the country didn’t return again until 2008. Hungary then once again withdrew in 2010 before returning in 2011. Since their return in 2011 Hungary has qualified for the final every year.
