TVP, the Polish national broadcaster, have launched a Facebook competition for fans to win tickets to Krajowe Eliminacje 2018, which will take place on March 3 at the TVP headquarters in Warsaw.
Anyone interested in winning tickets must comment on the post on the official TVP Eurovision Facebook page, explaining who they support in Eurovision and why (excluding Poland). Due to the large interest in passes, each person is entitled to only one entry. In addition, any group of minors must be under the care of someone 18 or over. Anyone attending the show must also take an official identity document to prove their identity. The number of tickets is limited, so the competition may end at any moment.
The ten artists competing in Krajowe Eliminacje are:
- Saszan – Nie chcę ciebie mniej (I don’t want you less)
- Monika Urlik – Momentum
- Isabel Otrebus – Delirium
- Ifi Ude – Love is stronger
- Future Folk – Krakowiacy i górale (Cracovians and highlanders)
- Gromee feat. Lukas Meijer – Light me up
- Marta Gałuszewska – Why don’t we go
- Pablosson – Sunflower
- Maja Hyży – Skin
- Happy Prince – Don’t let go
The winner will be chosen by a five-member jury (50%) and public voting (50%).
Poland has been using the show Krajowe Eliminacje since 2016. In that year, Michal Szpak placed eighth in the Grand Final of Eurovision with his song “Colour of Your Life”. He received 229 points overall. In 2017, Poland used the same selection format to choose Kasia Mos. She qualified for the final and went on to finish 22nd with a total of 64 points. She received 23 points from the juries finishing 23rd in the jury vote while finishing 12th in the public vote with a total of 41 points.

Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest
Poland debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 alongside a number of other Eastern European countries. Their debut year saw their best result to date, as Edyta Gorniak finished in 2nd place with her song “To nie ja!”. Following this, Poland failed to repeat this initial success, managing a top 10 placing on only one other occasion during their initial 1994-2011 run in the contest. In 2012, following a string of non-qualifications, Poland withdrew from the contest due to financial difficulties. Since their return in 2014, they have been considerably more successful in the contest, having qualified for the final for every year since there return. At Kyiv 2017, Kasia Mos finished 22nd in the final with her song “Flashlight”.
