Two artists are still working on selecting the songs they will perform at Unser Lied für Lissabon, the German selection process for Eurovision 2018.
Thomas Schreiber has revealed to Prinz Blog, that two artists are currently still deciding on the song that they will perform in the final of Unser Lied für Lissabon later this month in Berlin. Mr Schreiber said that the two artists and NDR are struggling to find the appropriate song for the selection and more importantly Eurovision.
January 31 saw NDR sit down with the production team to begin working on what each of the stage performances will look like. According to Mr Schreiber, the participating artists have had a number of interesting suggestions.
Regarding the final of Unser Lied für Lissabon, discussions are ongoing regarding the interval acts for the show. Levina who represented Germany in Kyiv had agreed to take part in the show, but has decided to withdraw to focus on a songwriting camp in Brighton, United Kingdom.
However, one special guest has been confirmed as attending the final. The Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, Jon Ola Sand will be present at the final in Berlin. Mr Sand has already attended the final of France’s selection, Destination Eurovision which took place just under a week ago.
The participants in Unser Lied für Lissabon are Xavier Darcy, Ivy Quainoo, Ryk, Michael Schulte, Natia Todua and the band voXXclub. Elton and Linda Zervakis will be moderating the show live from Berlin.
