The first five potential entries for Armenia in Eurovision 2018 were revealed earlier today.
The five will compete in Depi Evratesil 2018 which kicks off on 3 February and decides who will fly the Armenian flag in Lisbon. The songs released today, which can be heard on the official Depi Evratesil Youtube page, are:
- Waiting for the Sun by Amaliya Margaryan
- I’m a Liar by Nemra
- Posion (Ari Ari) by Tamar Kaprelian
- The Voice by Suren Poghosyan
- Enamorame by Hayk Kasparov
Over the next three days the remaining 15 songs will also be unveiled. The remaining artists are:
- Robert Kvoloyan
- Sevak Khanaghyan
- Mher Armenia
- Zhanna Davtyan
- Gevorg Harutyunyan
- Maria Sikret
- Hasmik Shiroyan
- Lusine Mardanyan
- Arman Mesropyan
- Kamil (Arsen Grigoryan)
- Gata bend
Eurovision fans may recognise Tamar Kaprelian among the line-up as she took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, representing Armenia as part of the group Genealogy. Amaliya Margaryan is entering Depi Evratesil for the second time in 2018. In 2017 she reached the duel stage of the competition but was eliminated by Anna Danielyan.
The winner of the national final will be determined by viewers and a jury composed of international experts with a 50/50 ratio. Last years Depi Evratesil champion, Artsvik, finished in 18th place in the Eurovision Grand Final in Kyiv with Fly with Me.

Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest
Armenia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 and has participated every year since excluding 2012. Armenia’s best results came in 2008 and 2014 when they finished 4th in the final. Armenia has only once not managed to qualify for the final, in 2011 Emmy finished 12th in her semi-final with the song “Boom Boom”, she was 1 point away from qualifying for the final. At the 2017 contest in Kyiv, Armenia was represented by Artsvik and the song “Fly with Me” finishing 18th in the final.
