Timebelle’s Miruna Manescu talks about her experience with her band Timebelle at the Eurovision Song Contest.
In an interview with Blick.ch, Timebelle’s lead singer Miruna Manescu revealed that she doesn’t want to return to Eurovision for the time being.
It was the worst and most beautiful time of my life
Miruna explained to the interviewer that she was sick in bed before performing at the semi-final and that she could hardly speak, so she was afraid that people would laugh at her. However, she also mentioned how helpful the SRF team were: “It was clear that they were also very nervous. But they never showed me that and brought everything I needed to get fit. Of course, we also had discussions where SRF usually had the last word, but they also have more experience”.
She described Switzerland’s non-qualification as tragic. Upon asking whether she would return to the Eurovision Song Contest again, she said she will not just yet.
Because other musicians are supposed to have these unique experiences. You only experience that once. Maybe in five years, I do not know. Maybe it will grab me again.
Miruna and her band Timebelle represented Switzerland at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. With their song “Apollo”, they failed to qualify for the final, placing 12th with 97 points.
Switzerland are once again opting to use Entscheidungsshow to select their next Eurovision entry. The show will take place on Sunday 4th February in Studio 1 of Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen, in Zurich-Oerlikon, and will begin broadcasting at 20:00 CET.
The winner of Entscheidungsshow 2018 will be decided by 50% international jury vote and 50% public televote. A total of six acts will compete in the show. Timebelle won the process in 2017 with more than 50% of the total votes.
