Toto Cutugno has sent Cypriot Junior Eurovision entrant Nicole Nicolaou a good luck video.
Nicole Nicolaou has revealed on her Instagram page that Eurovision winner Toto Cutugno has sent her a video wishing her good luck at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Toto Cutugno won the 1990 Eurovision Song Contest for Italy with his song “Insieme: 1992”.
This November, Nicole Nicolaou will represent Cyprus at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Her song “I Wanna Be A Star” is performed both in Greek and English.

Cyprus participated in the first Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 where they were represented by Theodora Rafti, she finished 14 with just 16 points. The countries best result came in 2004 when Marios Tofi finished 8th with the song “Oniera” scoring a total of 61 points. In 2008 Cyprus hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. On home soil, they were represented by Elena Mannouri & Charis Saava they finished 10th with 46 points. The country returned to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2016, having last participated in 2014 and 2009.
