Ceska Televize has confirmed to Eurovoix that discussions are on-going as to whether they will be participating in Eurovision Young Musicians 2018.
Ceska Televize, the national broadcaster of the Czech Republic, has confirmed to Eurovoix that discussions regarding Eurovision Young Musicians 2018 participation are underway. CT stated that a decision was yet to be made as to whether the country would take to the stage next August in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
The Czech Republic made their debut in Eurovision Young Musicians at the 2002 contest in Berlin, Germany. They made their debut at the 2002 contest alongside Romania, unlike Romania, the Czech Republic qualified for the final. The Czech Republic withdrew from the contest in 2004 and 2008, before returning to compete at every contest to date since 2010.
The Czech Republic joins Austria in confirming that they are discussing whether or not they will be competing in next years contest in Edinburgh. Currently BHRT of Bosnia & Herzegovina and RTE in Ireland have confirmed that they will not be competing in the United Kingdom. The following nations have confirmed their participation:

Eurovision Young Musicians 2018 will be held in Edinburgh at the Usher Hall. This is the first time since 2008 that Scotland has hosted a Eurovision event, the last being the final of the Eurovision Dance Contest. The 2018 contest will see the return of the semi-finals which will be held on August 18 and 19, with the final taking place on August 23.

Eurovision Young Musicians has been held bi-annually since 1982. The contest was based on the format of The BBC Young Musician of the Year in the United Kingdom. Performers in the contest must be aged under 18 years and are selected by their participating broadcaster. Each performer performs a piece of classical music of their choice accompanied by the local orchestra. The winner is decided by a jury made up of classical music experts and talents.
