The Netherlands: Over 4 Million Viewers Watched The Eurovision 2017 Final

In the Netherlands over 4 million viewers tuned in last night to watch the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.

In total of 4.067 million viewers watched last night as OG3NE went on to finish 11th in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. The girls finished 5th on the jury vote but after a poor televote result ended 11th with a total of 150 points. The final had a market share of 26%, with the show gaining 64% of the channels target audience for the night.

The viewing figures for this years Eurovision Song Contest in the Netherlands were as follows:

  • Semi-Final One – 1.446 Million viewers
  • Semi-Final Two – 2.451 Million viewers
  • Grand Final – 4.067 Million viewers

Of note is that 2.124 million viewers watched the pre-show in the Netherlands last night which began 30 minutes before the Grand Final got underway.

The Netherlands debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 and has gone on to compete in all bar four contests. To date the Netherlands has won the contest on four occasions the latest being in 1975. The Netherlands struggled in the contest from 2000 onwards, between 2004 and 2013 the country only qualified twice for the final. The countries best result since 1975 occurred in 2014 when The Common Linnets finished 2nd in Copenhagen with a total of 238 points, 52 points behind Austria.
