Four countries have changed one member of their jury before the jury show for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 last night.
Four jury members in the Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Moldova and Ukraine have been replaced due to personal reasons. The announcement of the change in jury line up was made last night with 20 minutes to go until the Grand Final. The changes are as follows:
- Sevda Alakbar-zada has been replaced by Emil Mammadov in Azerbaijan
- In the Czech Republic DJ Lucca has been replaced by Karel Hodr
- Paul Gamurari has been replaced by Denis Zubov in Moldova
- In Ukraine Sofia Tarasova has been replaced by Illaria
It has not been stated whether the jury members who have withdrawn due to personal circumstances voted in their semi-finals earlier in the week. Earlier this week jury members in Australia, Slovenia, Switzerland and Norway were all changed.
Per Sundnes was removed as a juror for Norway on Monday night following comments that he made on the Norwegian preview show. Comments made about Ireland during the preview show made it into the Irish press during Monday. On the show Mr Sundnes said that Ireland had “lost it completely” when it comes to the Eurovision Song Contest.
