Hunan Television has held the rights to broadcast the Eurovision Song Contest in China for a period of three years since 2015. In 2016 the broadcaster sent a team of twelve reporters to Stockholm to bring Chinese viewers all of the news from backstage as well as interviews with the competing artists.

Broadcasters who have shown the contest in previous years include:

  • Canada – OUTtv (2014 to 2015)
  • China – Hunan Television (2015 to date)
  • Faroe Islands – KVP (Live broadcast in 2011 & 2014)
  • Greenland – KNR (Delayed broadcast in 2011)
  • Kazakhstan – Khabar Agency (2010 to date)
  • Kosovo – RTK
  • Kyrgyzstan – KRTK (2012)
  • New Zealand – UKTV (2014 to 2016)
  • United States – LogoTV (2016 to date)

To date Kazakhstan, Greenland, China and the United States are the only non-competing countries to confirm that they will be broadcasting the contest. UKTV in New Zealand announced last month that after three years they will not broadcast the contest. Eurovoix.com has also contacted the Kosovar broadcaster RTK regarding whether they will broadcast this years contest but have not yet received a response.
