Lindita has confirmed this afternoon that “World”, her song for Eurovision 2017 will not be revealed tonight at 20:00 CET.
The reveal of the Albanian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 has now been delayed until Monday. “World” which is being performed by Lindita, was due to be released tonight at 20:00 CET on the RTSH Evening News. The song’s delayed reveal means that tomorrow two countries will now be revealing their songs for this years contest in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Lindita has spent the past month working on “World”, following her victory in Festivali i Kenges at the end of December. She won Festivali i Kenges 55, by scoring a total of 80 points with the jury topping the vote by 28 points, but finished third in the televote. Her winning song “Botë” has been heavily reworked for the contest in May, having been translated in May and changes made to the songs instrumentation.
Lindita whose full name is Lindita Halimi is 27 years old was born in Vitina, Kosovo. She first rose to fame having participated in the third season of Ethet, where she placed in the top.10. In 2014 she took part in Festivali i Kenges for the first time, where she finished in third place. She went on to take part in American Idol, but was knocked out before the final twenty-four singers were selected.

Albania debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 where they were represented by Anjeza Shahini. In Istanbul she performed the song “The Image of You” going on to finish 7th in the final scoring a total of 106 points. Albania’s best result in the contest came in 2012 when they were represented by Rona Nishliu and her song “Suus”, she finished 5th in the final scoring 4 sets of 12 points.
