Israel Calling, one of a number of Eurovision promotional events has been confirmed as taking place again this year.

RTVE the Spanish national broadcaster has revealed that Israel will once again be holding a Eurovision preview event. Israel Calling will be held on April 5 in Tel Aviv, the organisers of the event have yet to publicly confirm anymore details about the venue or ticket sales. Israel Calling was held for the first time in 2016 and was organised by Israel’s Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Tel Aviv Municipality.

To date only Manel Navarro has been confirmed as participating in this years event, last year the following artists attended the event:

  • Bulgaria – Poli Genova
  • Estonia – Juri Pootsmann
  • Finland – Sandhja
  • France – Amir
  • Hungary – Freddie
  • Israel – Hovi Star
  • Latvia – Justs
  • Lithuania – Donny Montell
  • Moldova – Lidia Isac
  • Norway – Agnete
  • Poland – Michal Szpak
  • Romania – Ovidiu Anton
  • Russia – Sergey Lazarev
  • Slovenia – ManuElla
  • Spain – Barei
  • Switzerland – Rykka
  • United Kingdom – Joe & Jake

To date six Eurovision preview events have been announced, the dates and locations are as follows:

  • Eurovision PreParty Riga – Riga – March 25
  • London Eurovision Party – London – April 2
  • Israel Calling – Tel Aviv – April 5
  • Eurovision in Concert – Melkweg – April 8
  • Eurovision Spain Preview Party – Madrid – April 15
  • Moscow Eurovision Party – Moscow – April 21

Only the Malta Eurovision Party which was held for the first time in 2016 has yet to confirm whether they will be held again for a second time in 2017. Gabriela Gunčíková (Czech Republic), Hovi Star (Israel), and Sanja Vučić ZAA (Serbia) joined Ira Losco at the event which was held at the Aria Complex in late April 2016.


A total of 43 countries are to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Returning to the Eurovision stage are Portugal and Romania who both took a year out from the contest. Bosnia & Herzegovina has however withdrawn from the contest due to financial difficulties at the national broadcaster, BHRT. The 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest is being held on the following dates:

  • Semi Final 1 – 9 May
  • Semi Final 2 – 11 May
  • Final – 13 May
