Albania has selected Lindita Halimi to represent them at the 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, next year in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Tonight the final of Festivali i Kenges 55 took place in Tirana at the Palace of Congresses. Over the past three nights a total of twenty four artists took to the stage, but tonight there could be only one winner. Albania has selected Lindita Halimi with the song “Botë” to represent them next May in Kyiv. The winner of the selection tonight was for the first time since 2005 with the input of the Albanian public. The public were able to vote via Facebook for their favourite artist, their vote was combined with that of a jury.
Kasem Hoxha and Ledina Çelo were the hosts for Festivali i Kenges 55. Ledina represented Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kyiv, Ukraine having previously hosted Festivali i Kenges in 2003. While Kaseem Hoxha is a well known Albanian actor currently living in Germany. Joining the two presenters was Andri Xhahu who hosted the green room.

Albania debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 where they were represented by Anjeza Shahini. In Istanbul she performed the song “The Image of You” going on to finish 7th in the final scoring a total of 106 points. Albania’s best result in the contest came in 2012 when they were represented by Rona Nishliu and her song “Suus”, she finished 5th in the final scoring 4 sets of 12 points. Albania last performed in a Eurovision Song Contest final in 2015, when Elhaida Dani performed “I’m Alive”.
