Cyprus: George’s Sister Will Join The Singer on Stage at Junior Eurovision

George Michaelides the Cypriot participant in Junior Eurovision 2016 will be joined by his sister on stage in Malta.

The full line up of George’s backing dancers for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Malta has been revealed. George who is singing “Dance Floor” will be joined on stage by four backing dancers, including his little sister Mia.

George’s backing dancers are as follows:

  • Emily Christodoulou – Emily and George have been dancing together for over 3 years and were hiphop partners at the UDO European Championships in 2012.
  • Georgina Moakler – Georgina and George have been dancing together as partners for almost 3 years and last year they finished 1st in Junior Lyrical Duo a national competition
  • Mia Michaelides – Mia last year was awarded a lifetime annual scholarship to London’s Pineapple Dance Studios Summer School.
  • Nikoletta Antoniou – Nikoletta attends the same school as George and  have been dancing together for about 3 years and Nikoletta is now a contestant on the popular Cypriot TV children’s show DanSing Jr 2.

George won Sigma TV’s “Musical Kids” in January, winning the contest saw him go straight into performing in “Amanda the Musical” in Nicosia. George’s main interest growing up has been dancing, he has competed in events across Europe including the European Street Dance Championships where he came 3rd in the under 12’s category. He was selected earlier in September to represent Cyprus in Junior Eurovision, after an open call for songs was made.

        1. Because Cyprus’ entry is not what usually appeals to the juries. Plus, they always pay attention to vocals and this year we have much better performers than George (for example, Klesta, Olivia and Alexander are amazing and also, their songs showcase their vocal capabilities).
