MRT the national broadcaster of Macedonia has confirmed their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Macedonia is the latest country to confirm their participation in the 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Macedonia brings the number of countries that have confirmed participation or stated an interest in participating to 33.

Macedonia has not yet decided on how they will select their participant for Kyiv. For the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Macedonia opted for an internal selection with Kaliopi returning to the contest with her song “Dona”. At the contest Macedonia missed out on the final for a fourth year running, finishing 11th in the second semi final with a total of 88 points.

To date a total of 33 countries are reported to have either confirmed their participation in next years contest, or stated their interest in competing in Kyiv. 9 countries from last years contest have yet to publicly state their decision on Eurovision participation, while Bosnia & Herzegovina is looking likely to withdraw.

  1. I have a suggestion: Send Kaliopi to Kyiv with the best possible balkan-style rock song to make sure she finishes in the top 10 at least. 😀

  2. Macedonia is confirmed, but Kazakhstan, Slovakia and Turkey need to confirm participation. Also, Liechtenstein will confirm participation if Bosnia and Herzegovina withdrew.
