TVE the national broadcaster of Spain has confirmed that they will be competing in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Yesterday Spain’s Head of Delegation, Federico Llano handed over the paperwork confirming Spanish participation in next years contest. TVE was one of a number of broadcasters who attended the Eurovision Creative Forum in Berlin, Germany, which included a talk on the Eurovision Song Contest.
No details have yet been announced by TVE about how they will select their participant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Ukraine. In recent years Spain has struggled in the contest finishing in the bottom 20 in three of the past four contests. Only Ruth Lorenzo who represented Spain at Eurovision 2014 has managed to bring the country a top.10 result in recent years.
To date a total of 28 countries have confirmed their participation or stated their intent to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Portugal will be returning to the contest next year having sat out the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden. While it is looking increasingly likely that Bosnia & Herzegovina will be forced to withdraw from next years contest.
