France has made an open call for songs for Eurovision 2017, as France 2 opts once again to internally select their participant.
The French broadcaster France 2 has publicly announced their call for submissions and are looking for their successor to Amir who represented the country with the song ‘J’ai Cherché’. Following the same format as their 2016 selection process, there are four different categories through which to apply:
- Singers/Songwriters without a song
- Singers who have a song for Eurovision
- Songwriters who have a song for a specific artist
- Songwriters who have a song and will work with France 2 to find an artist.
They have opened their call in searching for international composers and musicians, who must be able to present their song in French and English. The deadline for submissions is 30th November 2016, with a decision being made on the French entry by 10th March 2017. Songs for the selection can feature up to 20% of the lyrics not being performed in French.
