Jamala the winner of the 61st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest has been announced as a member of the Ukrainian national selection jury.
NTU has announced that this year’s winner of the Eurovision Song Contest Jamala will appear on the jury panel in helping Ukraine selecting its entry for 2017. She will be following in the footsteps of Ruslana the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 for Ukraine, who featured on the jury for the countries 2016 selection.
The CEO of Ukrainian broadcaster NTU Zurab Alasania, stated that Jamala had volunteered to be on the jury and that it would seem very logical that she should be present on the panel. Jamala is the second member of the national selection jury to be announced and joins music producer and composer Konstantin Meladze.
A further two jury members are yet to be announced by NTU. The submissions period for the Ukrainian selection process is currently open and will remain open until December/
