HRT the national broadcaster of Croatia has confirmed to Eurovoix.com that they will not participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016.

Croatia joins a list of eight countries who have previously participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest but will not be returning this year. The country last participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 when Josie performed “Game Over” in Malta, she finished last with a total of 13 points.

Croatia was one of the original 16 countries to take part in the first edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, Denmark. They won the first edition of the contest represented by Dino Jelušić and the song “Ti si moja prva ljubav” (You Are My First Love).

To date a total of 13 countries have confirmed their participation in Junior Eurovision 2016, including the returning countries of Cyprus and Poland.
