Details have been revealed about Odessa’s bid to host the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Ukraine.

It has been announced that the bid from Odessa to host next years Eurovision Song Contest has proposed the Chornomorets Stadium as the venue. The Chornomorets Stadium is a 34,000 capacity football stadium which was completed in 2011, the stadium does require the construction of a roof. The opening and closing ceremony’s of the contest would take place on the Odessa Arcadia, a promenade running along the coast in the city.

The Arcadia is also a proposed venue for the Eurovision village, it would as seen in previous contests hold stands from the competing countries. The city has also proposed to run a competition for fans to win tickets to the event. The competition would see the winners taking a cruise from an unspecified part of Europe to Odessa for the contest.
