Details of the bid to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Lviv have been revealed by the local press.

According to Portal Lviv the bid that the city of Lviv proposes the use of either Arena Lviv or the use of an unfinished Eurobasket 2015 arena. Arena Lviv is a 35,000 capacity football stadium which was finished in 2011 to host three matches of Euro 2012. It is currently perceived to be one of the proffered venues to host Eurovision 2017, but still requires the building of a roof to be suitable to host the contest.

The second venue is a currently unfinished venue from Eurobasket 2015. Lviv was one of a number of cities in Ukraine that was due to host the event, however the competition was subsequently moved away from Ukraine. The venue that Lviv is proposing to use has only been 25% completed. The venue would have a capacity for 10,000 people at concerts and between 6-8,000 at sporting events.
