ESC’17: Kyiv & Dnipro Formally Bid To Host Eurovision

Kyiv the Capital of Ukraine and Dnipro have become the first cities to formally bid to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.

NTU the Ukrainian national broadcaster confirmed that Kyiv has submitted a bid to host next years contest. Kyiv’s bid has also been joined by Dnipro in Eastern Ukraine. No details have been announced about the bids from Kyiv or Dnipro including details about which venue they would hold the contest in. Cities wishing to host next years contest have until July 8 to submit their bid to NTU.

  1. Lviv is really the only venue they can host the contest at.

    Ukraine is full of sports venues that have barely been used since being built/renovated for Euro 2012 and Building another venue is just a pipe dream and would be unnecessary.

    They will have to build a roof on the Lviv stadium but that is so far the easiest and most cost affective option.
