The European Broadcasting Union has given the national broadcaster of Bosnia & Herzegovina until June 8 to pay part of their debt.
BHRT the national broadcaster of BHRT announced earlier this week that they would be suspending broadcasting on June 30. The EBU which announced last week that BHRT had until May 31 to settle their debts with the EBU, has now extended the deadline until June 8. BHRT according to the EBU owes over 6 million CHF, while BHRT officials state the total debt to the EBU is 9.5 million CHF . It has been reported by Nezavisne that BHRT has held a debt with the European Broadcasting Union dating back to 2004.
BHRT faces being the second national broadcaster to be removed from the EBU after TVR of Romania was removed in April.
