
The Mayor of Kyiv (Kiev) the Ukrainian Capital has stated that preparations have already begin to host the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest.
Vitali Klitschko, Mayor of Kyiv (Kiev) has said that he would like to see next years contest held at the Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex. Mr Klitschko said that discussions will begin regarding providing a decent standard of infrastructure, accommodation and security in the capital for the guests of next years contest. He added his praise for Jamala’s win stating that:
I’m incredibly proud of Ukraine and grateful Jamala for this victory is so important. Kyiv will again host the Eurovision and we will do everything to make the necessary preparations and to hold a competition at the highest level. We have begun to prepare.
So far only Odessa and Kyiv have stated their intentions to host next years contest. Of the two Kyiv is the front-runner to host having last hosted in 2005.
