Journal de Noticas is reporting that RTP will not be broadcasting any of the three shows from the 61s Eurovision Song Contest.
Portugal who are not competing in this years contest have decided that they will not be broadcasting any aspects of this years Eurovision Song Contest. It is the first time that RTP has not broadcast a Eurovision Song Contest since they first participated in 1964. The news means that Portugese fans of the contest will instead have to view the contest online through the official website Eurovision.tv.
RTP have said that they will be returning to the contest in 2017, RTP have said they wish to rework Festival da Canção and how the country selects their participant for the contest.

Once again, RTP witdraws from the edition in Sweden and returns to the next year. Anyway, Portugal is such a lovely country with wonderful people so it’s impossible to hate on them. 🙂
