Welcome to today’s rehearsals here at the Friends Arena.
We start off with Panetoz – “Hall om mig hart”
This is certainly a lively and upbeat start to the show. These guys certainly have the energy and don’t stand still for the three minutes. If Panetoz have all this energy now, I wonder how much more they will bring to the table on Saturday night.
Lisa Ajax – My Heart Wants Me Dead
A complete change in pace from the opening number. This is a strong ballad which shows a lot of emotions throughout the song. I am slightly put off my the contemporary dancers surrounding her and feel like they take the focus off her slightly.
David Lindgren – We Are Your Tomorrow
Wow! David starts off elevated on some staging, doing his laser hand work routine, before jumping down and carrying on with the song. The lighting effects have changed and bring a three dimensional element to the routine. It shows you can improve what was already brilliant to something extra brilliant.
SaRaha – Kizunguzungu
Another up tempo anthem, the energy certainly doesn’t stop for the whole duration of the song. I do feel some more energy will be needed though to make an impact with the voting public back at home.
Oscar Zia – Human
Human is performed on a very dark and eerie stage setting – but this only emphasises the emotions that Oscar is trying to express throughout his performance. You can see this is very personal to him.
Ace Wilder – Don’t Worry
Nothing has changed since Gothenburg and nor does it need to! The energy that we saw at the start of this year’s Melodifestivalen is certainly brought to Stockholm for finale weekend. The staging is exactly how it was.
Robin Bengtsson – Constellation Prize
For me there is something lacking in this performance. Vocally, Robin is excellent, but I feel he seems a little bit lost on stage on his own. I could see a couple of dancers working here, but obviously it is too late in the day now to introduce these.
Molly Sanden – Youniverse
It’s amazing what you can do with a few desk fans. Molly has certainly come of age with this song. It’s not really what we are use to hearing her sing at Melodifestivalen and dare I say it be a bit rather contemporary?
Boris Rene – Put Your Love On Me
This is ‘that’ song that I’ve come to Stockholm and couldn’t remember how it went – there is always one after all. Boris has, what Robin hasn’t and that is some dancers.
Frans – If I Were Sorry
So we have the ‘Mans Videowall’, but reformed into a light wall. Time for everyone to turn their torches on their phones. Frans will certainly get the teenage girl vote, but for me personally it doesn’t particular grab me.
Wiktoria – Save Me
‘Save Me’ is another one of those entries that hasn’t had to do any work towards the performance in the final this weekend.
Samir & Victor – Bada Nakna
After their semi final when they sang out of tune, I’m expecting big things. To be fair, it has improved.
