Lidia Isac will sing “Falling stars” in Stockholm

Moldova also decided their entry for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest on “Super Saturday”. Sixteen artists that qualified from the previous two semi-finals performed in tonight’s final of “O Melodie Pentru Europa 2016”. The winner was decided 50/50 between a combination of public televoting and a jury made up of 11 members from Moldovan culture, arts and music industries.

The draw for tonight’s show was as follows:

  2. Maxim Zavidia – “La La Love” (14 points)
  3. Doinița Gherman – “Irresistable” (6 points)
  4. Lidia Isac – “Falling stars” (20 points) 
  5. Big Flash Sound – “Când vrei” (5 points)
  6. Che-MD – “Vodā e cu noi”
  7. Andrei Ionița & Onoffrei – “Lie” (1 point)
  8. Cristina Pintilie – “Picture of love” (18 points)
  9. Nadia Moșneagu – “Stop lying” (1 point)
  10. Rodica & Ivan Aculov – “Stop lying” (4 points)
  11. Emilia Russu – “I am not the same”
  12. Viola – “In the name of love” (2 points)
  13. DoReDoS – “FunnyFolk” (16 points)
  14. Max Fall feat. Dan Vozniuc & Malloy – “Game lover” (6 points)
  15. Valeria Pașa – “Save love” (17 points)
  16. Felicia Dunaf – “You and me”

The top 5 scoring songs were as follows:

Therefore, Lidia Isac has won the right to represent Moldova at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, Sweden. Moldova will compete in the first half of the first semi-final on Tuesday 10th May.
