16th place: Irene Fornaciari – Blu*

*Blu by Irene Fornaciari was the winner of a five-act wildcard round that happened at the start of the show.

Without their positions being revealed, the top three acts went on to compete in a superfinal and votes were cast once more. The results of the superfinal are as follows.

1st place: Stadio – Un Giorno Mi Dirai

2nd place: Francesca Michielin – Nessun Grado Di Separazione

3rd place: Giovanni Caccamo & Deborah Iurato – Via Da Qui

Although the group Stadio won Sanremo, they have declined the offer to perform at Eurovision this year in Stockholm. Italy’s representative will therefore be decided by the national broadcaster RAI among the remaining competitors.
