Malta has selected Ira Losco as their participant for the 61st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest this May in Stockholm, Sweden.

A total of 14 singers took to the stage this evening in the Mediterranean Conference Center all vying to represent Malta at this years Eurovision Song Contest. In the end it was Ira Losco with the song “Chameleon” that the Maltese public and jury selected as their entry for Stockholm.


 

Ira Losco:

Ira Losco will be returning to the Eurovision stage for a second time this year after winning tonight’s selection. The singer rose to fame in Malta when she represented her country back in 2002 with “7th Wonder”, she finished 2nd in Tallinn, Estonia just 12 points away from victory. Since then she has gone on to become one of the biggest names in Maltese music releasing hit after hit.

Ira is a recipient of a Midalja għall-Qadi tar-Repubblika, this medal can only be handed out 10 times each year, both Gaia Cauchi and Destiny Chukunyere have received this medal.

  4. Brooke – Golden – 58 points – 2nd
  5. Raquel – Flashing Lights – 12 points – 9th
  6. Christabelle – Kingdom – 38 points – 4th
  7. Corazon – Falling Glass – 15 points – 8th
  8. Dominic – Fire Burn – 5 points – 13th
  9. Jessika – The Flame – 19 points – 7th
  10. Jasmine – Alive – 26 points – 6th
  11. Lawrence Gray – You’re Beautiful – 7 points – 12th
  12. Maxine – Young Love – 36 points – 5th
  13. Ira Losco – Chameleon – 68 points – 1st
  14. Kim – Lighthouse – 10 points – 2nd
